Heathcote is a magical area to grow Shiraz – Finding an ideal green field’s site Lindsay & Noeline Ross planted the vineyard in 1998. They grow the vines organically and make wine without any modification so you can taste the place. The vineyard is 85% Shiraz with the balance of Viognier, Malbec and Sangiovese. These varieties are blended with Shiraz to further express textural differences and are fun to make and interesting too.
To supplement the wine they make from The Bridge Vineyard in Heathcote they source from passionate growers and exceptional vineyard sites, grapes for their Knots range. One old vine vineyard from Bendigo is the foundation for the Sheepshank Shiraz which is the mainstay of Knots wines. But as there are many types of knots they have fun finding interesting varieties to make the range dynamic and constantly evolving. They are best enjoyed with anyone anywhere any time.
